I have several Sonatina books but this one is the BEST! My piano abilities are early to middle intermediate. This book contains songs that fit that range and on the plus side the readability is outstanding. The paper is off white, slightly yellow, which is easy on my 65+ year old eyes. The spacing on each page is generous which also improves readability. So many books cram the pages with so many lines/measures to reduce the number of pages for songs. Learning songs is challenging enough. The layout of the music on the page shouldn’t be an obstacle. As far as content, the songs are ones that you’ll enjoy learning and listening to, and the arrangements and fingering are very well written. I am definitely going to look at additional Schirmer Performance Editions from the Hal Leonard Library.

I especially like the CD that came with the book. My granddaughter plays the songs on the piano when she visits.
