I have most of the Baroque Recorder Anthology series, all of which contain a CD. The CDs can be played on a traditional CD player or a computer- in fact to find most of the accompaniment tracks you have to use a computer.The Renaissance Anthology has all of the tracks available for download from a given code. This is free, quick and efficient. The downside for me is that you have to select one track at a time and then go back and choose the next. Some of the pieces are quite short so you’re doing this quite often.I’m probably very old fashioned but there is a certain pleasure in letting the CD just play and indulging in a long play along session or putting a track on ‘repeat’ if you want to work on it. Maybe clever technical folk can do this on a computer- but not me !

I now have most of the books in this series and the similar Baroque series The book is of a very high quality as are the play along accompaniments. My other copies came with a CD but my latest purchase only had a download code for the tracks in mp3 format (which I was quite happy with because I always imported the tracks from the CD). Highly recommended for recorder players of intermediate standard.
