Only after a couple hours of fishing the paint/color coating has obliterated from lures. I am wondering whether the manufacturer test its products at all or the price is the sole predictor of a quality.

I’ve caught bluegill and bass with these flies. They aren’t the highest quality but they work. The little fly box is nice.

These are very cheaply made flys they even include two needles to remove paint from overspray on the hook eyelets - fancy! Seriously you are getting what you pay for and they may well work fine out on the water - Ill update when I get a chance to test these out.

I bought the bass popper set and have fished it all summer. WOW! Exceeded all my expectations.At first glance the quality of these poppers is not comparable to Orvis or Umpqua or other high end fly manufacturers. You can see that they were put together quickly and cheaply. The color combinations are all pretty wonky looking. The dimples on the front popper end are very shallow or non-existant, so they don't produce the nice "plop" that you get from other poppers. The hooks are not very sharp but the size is perfect. I put a few in my box as backup for when I run out of my "nice" poppers.So one day I was out fishing and I broke off my last good popper and tied one of these on. Woudn't you know it, the fish love these just as much if not more! I think the subtle pop and the extra long rubber legs are the magic combination. You can also make the small and medium sizes swim like subsurface divers and this seems to be the action that draws in bass. I have caught lots of nice bass and panfish on these this summer. When you have to retire a fly because it's all chewed to hell and back by fish that's when you know you have an all-time classic. This kit is a great way to stock up on poppers, especially if you are not the best caster or fish around a lot of snaggy cover.Note: you definitely want to get a hook sharpener to make the most of these. And flatten down those barbs!

This is a great assortment of very well-tied flies. It's not a tiny amount of money to buy them, but this collection is completely worth the money. The little poppers are the best I've ever used.This would be an awesome gift for anyone just starting fly fishing, especially a kid. I bought them for myself, but I have two kids in mind I'll buy a set for at Christmas.These are a very good deal.
