I don't know what 5500lbs is with reference to winching things (pulling things out of ditches for instance, not necessarily the weight..) a ATV may be nowhere near that breaking strain but put it in a ditch and the rope would meet significant resistance.This rope (in my opinion) is standard lightweight nylon rope and isn't even braided particularly well. Wouldn't trust this rope for winching anything of substance.

This is repeatedly described within the listing as a " steel wire rope " .I expected there to be either a steel wire core or steel woven into the synthetic material , but the only metal is the small eye at one end and the metal loop at the other - neither of which look sturdy enough to hold the weight claimed! The rope itself is entirely synthetic and that should have been made clear in the listing I shall be returning it

Don't think I could chance using this to use on my boat trailer winch. Looks too thin . More like a cloaths line

I am very unsure about this product. Multiple times in the description it claims that this is a steel wire rope, which it clearly is not, then claims that it is synthetic fibre, which it clearly is. The weave is quite poor, in places, straight from the pack, it is opening and loose. The fibres feel coarse and not of the quality I would expect for this type of product, I can see them starting to fray very quickly. I have not tested the breaking point, but would not trust it anywhere near the figure quoted. As a cheap light duty rope, I guess it's OK but if you need strength, look elsewhere.
