Vom Eindruck her ein gutes, stabiles Fahrradschloss.

I got this lock in order to be able to secure my son's bike at school, and works perfectly for that. It comes with 2 keys and a steel cable for additional security. I was able to secure his bike via the back wheel to the bike rail at the school without issue. It is slightly smaller than other U locks I have had in the past. The lock itself should prevent casual bike thieves from being able to break it - however no lock is immune to the most determined of bike thieves.

Classic Bike U Lock design. So a couple of thoughts on U-Locks in general. Firstly they will NOT keep your bike safe from determined criminals. Not since cordless angle-grinders became a thing is ANY lock good enough. So in my view U-Locks are good for the temporary security of expensive bikes, or for using on cheap bikes - basically they will stop casual criminals only. So with that in mind let's look at this offering from Anstore. Now when I use a U-lock I like to pass the U-lock through both my rear wheel and the frame. That's not possible with this one - my frame is too large and the lock is just not long enough. Internally the hole measures 9.6cm wide by 15,3 cm long. The lock comes with a cable, but the cable is only long enough to secure ONE wheel, so you'd need to fit the lock to say the rear+frame and pass the cable through the front wheel. On my bike I'd be left with a wheel unsecured. So my advice - measure your bike up and see if the lock is large enough. For MTB users, I'd get a longer D-lock.The lock is nicely padded so it won't scratch your paintwork and comes with a bracket for attaching to the frame. The cable is not as strong as some, but if like me, you only use it for securing the front wheel, it doesn't need to be - bolt cutters will cut through the strongest cable so all you can hope to do is deter opportunists so pointless carrying extra weight. The lock is supplied with 2 keys and the keyhole is protected with a flap which should help keep the rain (and the rust) out!In short - this lock is perfectly fine for what it does. Just consider your needs before purchase to see if this is the right kind of security for your bike.
