I purchased this strain gauge for a project requiring precise measurements, but it has been completely non-responsive from the start. Despite following all installation instructions carefully and testing with multiple configurations, it failed to provide any readings. The gauge either outputs nothing or fluctuates randomly without any applied strain.

As far as I can determine these sensors measure deformation, not pressure. At least, gripping the sensor as hard as I could in a pair of pliers changed the resistance by maybe an ohm or two. Flexing the film very quickly produces an open circuit, so much more sensitive to that. If you want to measure pressure as I did don’t be tempted by the quantity for the price.
