Linguistics are where it's at if you want to wow friends and strangers at gatherings. This is a great book that is fun and flirty with a lot of great nuggets of information in it. I enjoy Amanda's writing style as well.

I love this book: how it delves into the origins and corruption of language. It is easy to read and offers insight into the importance and power of language. It follows on from Nor Hall's The Moon and the Virgin.

I have just finished reading “Wordslut, a feminist guide to taking back the English language”, Harper Wave, Kindle edition by Mx (Ax, Jx,...Xx could be?) Amanda Montell and, to my big surprise, have discovered that what is presented as a recovery of something that has been stolen by Patriarchy, ends up being an eulogy of non-penetrating sex plus a try for non-normative identities to create a new language that obviously will be “women's language”(Láadan) like that of Suzette Haden Elgin in “Native Tongue”. Without having to go that far, owners of VCVC could envelop or sheath their non-normative partners to clitsmash together, although they could intususpect, too.To finish it off, this book is a Utopian feminist guide written with so much fanatism as the Communist Manifesto. The solution to language appropriation: To amputate all the pennies and to close all the VCVC by radical hymenorraphies so that clones only are possible; then, all hetero societies will be finished and everybody will be not only equal but identical. And will talk the same way. Good luck.
