Very good roadbed. Easy to use. Easy to form into a curve. Insulate the sound very well.

I was laying down my S gauge Model Train for the Christmas display when I ran out of cork road bed. I had New York City and the Illinois Farming Community all set up but now Santa Claus Track was down because I could not find the cork bed i used. I saw this products and knew Woodland Scenics Makes great stuff. I took a chance. It does indeed match the thickness and you really don't staple it. I used train nails and simply made the train snug to hold it in place. The noise is much reduced from Cork. and the dark color just disappears in the layout. I used every foot I had but I will order more when i need as i learned Amazon has it for ANYTIME we need more.

My father-in-law suggested this product as I was about to use cork. Am I glad I didn’t use cork. This stuff is perfect! Quieter, smoother ride all around. Beautiful stuff. I’m running 054 in my curves and slicing the bed down the middle for the curves was perfect, added flexibility. Like how there was a line already in place, made my cut perfect every time. Forget the cork, this track bed right here is what you need!

This is not the first time I have installed roadbed on a layout so I am very aware of the shortcomings of using cork.The installation went extremely well including some really tight curves. It went down without a hitch. Ballast adheres to it using traditions methods without any problems. I highly recommend this product. It definitely is worth the difference in cost over traditional cork without the associated problems.
