I love that this is USB-C and can be used with my cell phone in a pinch. Worked great to reprogram an ESP32 I had embedded in some equipment. Zero complaints!

Ces adaptateurs USB UART fonctionnent correctement, c'est basique mais probablement l'un des outils les plus utiles pour utiliser des microcontrôleurs 🙂

I do a lot of device programming with USB to Serial converters, and there are a few consistent frustrations I've had: most of my converters have ancient Mini USB ports, they often use counterfeit or knockoff interface chips with driver issues on certain devices, and it can be difficult to disconnect the power pin if a device is already powered with its own power source. This device neatly solves all three: it comes with a modern USB-C port, it uses what's claimed to be a genuine FTDI FT232 chip, and it has a jumper to select between 5V, 3.3V and "powered by device".Note the pin order isn't the same as some other adapters, so pay close attention before assuming it matches and plugging it blindly into a 6-pin header on an evaluation board. Also note this doesnt' have 1.8V support onboard, so if you need that supply, another device might be a better choice. (I rarely use that feature, though, so I'm happy with just 3.3V and 5V, myself.)Waveshare seems to make high quality devices and this is another one continuing in that tradition. It's a few bucks more than most other converters, but it's a solid choice.
