Due to the chip upgrade, the 2.13inch e-Paper V2 will be upgraded to its V3, the new and old demos are not compatible, but their appearances and functions are compatible.
If you are an old customer and need to purchase a new screen again, please pay attention to the update program.
If you purchase it for the first time, and there is a V3 label on the back of the screen, just use the V3 demo directly. (December 2021)
If the screen with the partial model of the V3 is slow, you can change the refreshing speed by modifying the waveform in EPD_2in13_V3.c.
If the value is reduced, the speed will be accelerated. However, when the refreshing speed is improved, the color of the screen with the partial mode will fade.
Driver Board
The version of the driver board and the screen are independent, and the driver to be used is mainly selected according to the screen version.
The current version of the driver board is Rev2.2, Rev2.1 (older version without the version number) and subsequent versions have a power-off function and level-shift function.

Ho comprato questo display per testare un paio di progetti Bjorn CyberViking e Pwnagotchi, testato su Rasbperry Pi4 e funziona perfettamente nonostante solitamente si abbini al Pi Zero che è della stessa misura.

I have a fascination with e-ink displays, and have more than I can really use at this point. I built a custom enclosure for my Pi 5 where I incorporated this to give me basic readings of various performance parameters. It gives a quick indication of case temperature and CPU utilization so I can tell if it's running a task without having to log in to see what's going on. Waveshare has been making some of my favorite components, and this e-ink display is no exception.

I'm sure these are great for something but I purchased to use on pwnagotchi projects but found out after arrival these are totally unsupported by pwnagotchi projects. After spending way too many days trying to get these to work they are now in the jump pile of electronics I will find a use for one day.These are V3 screens which are currently unsupported for pwnagotchi, you need V2 screens.

You need to use the 1.55 fix operating system on your SD card. Keep the configuration toml set as a waveshare v3 and it works fantastic ! 👍
