Loved this book - great sequel to the first. I love the jumping back and forth through time element as you get to know the characters.

A thrilling and exciting read that hooked me almost all the time.The beginning was a little slow but I still love the way we have chapters from de past and present.I like some things on part I, as knowing more about Victor condition, but part II was more interesting.The dark vibes in this books are amazing but in this one it looks even darker. Now we have a crazy scientist! Well, Eli and Victor were crazy pre-med students but this guy is more than crazy.Part III and IV were also really interesting and I read half of the book in one sitting.“Every end is a new beginning.”Victor is still very enigmatic and I’m always curious, wanting to know more about him. Oh, and I love the way he protects Syd, he really cares about her and not just because of his promise.“Victor had simply been waiting for Syd to come home.”Eli story, about his childhood… it’s so horrible… how could they do that to a child? Now it makes a lot more sense his God Complex. But either way, I can’t understand him fully. And what happened in part III and IV, I was surprised to read that last chapters.I love Sydney. After everything, she still can be her, love others and like things, even if she is as “broken” as the others. She deserved so much better than this life but I’m happy she found a new family to be with her, who will protect her.“I will ruin you.”There are more characters like Mitch that I like very much, or June and Marcella who are baddies but I don’t want to talk much about them to not spoil anything.About the final, WHAT WAS THAT???? I NEED MORE NOW???? WHAT REALLY HAPPENED????I swear it was SO good, and now I’m really excited to read more books written by this author, because I loved her different plots and her writing style, including the past and present chapters.

Many superhero duos go sour over time and the friendship of Victor Vale and Eli Ever is no exception. I was hooked instantly while reading Vicious but the introduction of Marcella between Eli and Victor added depth to the story, new and thrilling action and a chance for all their characters to develop which showed their true motivations. Victor was darker in this one. I felt this was spurred on by his fear of death which made him take risks and questionable actions. Sydney was still his conscience in this story and I loved how her story arc progressed. The finale left me holding my breath to the last page. I look forward to reading more in this series.

I was eagerly looking forward to this book. I must say it met and surpassed my expectations. The characters in this series are among the most compelling I have ever come across in any book.It's great to have a protagonist and an antagonist who could switch sides so easily. Both Victor and Eli were excellently written and they feel very consistent with who they were in the first book. The other characters are also fully fleshed out.The tension that the author creates as the book approaches its climax was palpable. It reminded me of the first book. Overall, this book is a worthy sequel to Vicious and concludes the story.

Vengeful é a sequência que você não sabia que queria. Embora Vicious tenha um final bem fechado, e que deixa o leitor com receio de uma sequência à história, Vengeful chega à altura de seu antecessor e talvez seja até melhor. Os novos personagens introduzidos são tão interessantes e bem construídos quanto os que já conhecemos e mesmo assim, a autora não se perde com relação à história de Eli e Victor, o laço que ainda existe entre os dois.Essa talvez seja uma das melhores sequências que eu já li na vida.

Auch der zweite Teil der Villains Reihe von V.E. Schwab konnte mich begeistern. Die Autorin hat einen leichten, flüssigen Schreibstil der Spannung aufbaut und Cliffhanger am Ende fast jedes einzelnen Kapitels entstehen lässt. Frau Schwab kann einfach wunderbar mit Worten umgehen und sie so zu Sätzen formen, dass die Figuren dadurch lebendig wirken. Die Idee der Villains Reihe ist keine Besonderheit und erfindet das Rad nicht neu, jedoch wie die Autorin ihre Geschichte erzählt und wie sie ihre Figuren zum Leben erweckt, fesselt den Lesern in seinen Bann, sodass man nur schwer wieder aufhören kann. Der gesamte Plot hat mir in dem Roman zugesagt, die Charaktere wurden vertieft, besonders Eli's Vergangenheit fand ich sehr wichtig, so konnte man sein Handeln in Vicious besser nachvollziehen. Die neuen Figuren haben perfekt zu der Welt gepasst in der Victor & Co leben. Der Roman ist durchgehend spannend und actionreich geschrieben, die Handlung wurde für meine Verhältnisse, mit Zufriedenheit beendet. Jedoch habe ich am Ende gehadert, ob ich dem Roman 4,5 Sterne oder die volle Punktzahl geben soll, was an der Tatsache liegt das man als Leser nicht zu 100% weiß ob eine gewisse Person nun endgültig tot ist oder nicht. Oder es liegt einfach an mir, dass es mir nicht zu genau war. Näher kann ich hierauf nicht eingehen, wegen Spoilergefahr. Da ich aber ansonsten nichts an dem Roman auszusetzen habe, gibt es die volle Punktzahl für dieses Schmuckstück. Ich hoffe darauf, dass wir die nächsten Jahre noch mehr von unseren X-Men lesen dürfen. Bis dahin werde ich in Merit verbleiben.

A mi hijo le ha encantado la edición y se lo ha leído bastante rápido, teniendo en cuenta que es un libro en inglés y voluminoso.
