The build quality is amazing, great metal body, with a nice feeling silicone case (which you can easily remove).Installation is painless, instructions are very clear, and a screwdriver is provided for the two screws.Size is fairly small, smaller than most battery packs I've seen tbh, very happy with it.There is a fan, but in my opinion it's more of a low pitched whoosh than a high pitched whine, so very bearable, and very quiet. Similar to the fans on an M4 Mac mini.The speeds are as good as advertised (maybe even marginally better). I tested it with a Samsung 990 Pro 4TB on an M4 Pro Mac Mini. Just bear in mind the use an actual thunderbolt 5 cable (like the one provided in the box). I originally used my thunderbolt 4 cable from Apple because I'd heard that passive thunderbolt 4 cables could act as thunderbolt 5 when it came to data transfer; that's evidently not the case.When trying to use it with mobile devices rather than my desktop, it connected fine to my MacBook Air and iPad Pro, but my iPhone 16 Pro would not detect it. I'm not sure if this because the drive draws too much power, or because the port on the iPhone is plain USB-C and not Thunderbolt, but either way this isn't a real issue.On the whole this enclosure is amazing, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a thunderbolt 5 ssd enclosure. No complaints.

Just got this earlier this morning. Took minutes to install my Samsung 990 pro 1TB in it and connect it to my M4 Max Mac. I purchased the Apple Thunderbolt 5 cable as i really don't like the cables some of these enclosures come with. Ran a Black Magic speed test on the drive and am getting over 6000mb/s write and over 5900mb/s read.. Super fast speeds. Am very impressed. Build quality is superb. unit is made of aluminum and cover is both copper and aluminum. I've been running his thing all day and drive only gets a little warm. This unit comes with a built in fan. No noise at all. Runs silent. For 199.00 this is an excellent deal. Highly recommended.

Ce boitier dédié notamment au Thunderbolt 5 est vraiment bien conçu avec des matériaux de bonne qualité et de très belles finitions, ce qui justifie sans aucun doute son prix.L’installation du SSD de type M.2 NVMe M-Key au format 2280 (non fourni) est simple et est également bien expliqué sur le mode d’emploi (multilingue). Les performances sont en rendez-vous ! Pour l’instant, j’utilise ce boitier sur un ordinateur Apple (Intel, Thunderbolt 3, macOS Sequoia), et j’obtiens des performances de transfert de données, relatives à la connectique Thunderbolt 3. Je profiterais (ultérieurement) de meilleures performances avec ce boitier, compatible avec un Mac Mini M4 Pro.
