I wanted you to wait a bit before reviewing to see how well it works.I was a bit apprehensive after reading mixed reviews which was either excellent or crap.Happy to report that it is all (still) working after 3 weeks. Had to restart (turn off/on once) but it picked up my router signal rightaway. It keeps the name of the router with a “ext” behind, so you know which wifi to choose based on the signal strength.I have now stopped using my additional pocket wifi for parts of the house that had weak/ wifi signal from my NBN. Saving $$ monthly top up for the pocket wifi too.I will now buy another one to try in my office to extend the wifi range here.

I couldn’t be happier with my purchase of the TP-Link N300 Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender! Setting it up was incredibly easy. The instructions were clear, and within minutes, I had it connected to my existing Wi-Fi network. The WPS feature made it even simpler—just press a button, and it was ready to go.The performance of this extender is fantastic. It boosted my Wi-Fi signal significantly, reaching areas of my home that were previously dead zones. I can now stream videos, play games, and work from anywhere in the house without experiencing slow speeds or connection drops. The range is impressive for such an affordable device. It has helped improve my Wi-Fi connection in the farthest corners of my home, making it perfect for larger spaces or multi-story homes. The compact design is another plus – it’s small, unobtrusive, and plugs directly into the wall without taking up much space. Plus, the Ethernet port is a nice touch, allowing me to connect wired devices for even faster speeds.Overall, the TP-Link N300 Wi-Fi Range Extender is an excellent value for the price. It does exactly what it promises, and the ease of installation makes it a great option for anyone looking to improve their Wi-Fi coverage. Highly recommend it!

My wifi card in my laptop recently stopped functioning, so I purchased one of these extenders to plug my laptop into via an ethernet cable. This allowed me to keep moving my laptop wherever I needed to within the house, despite it not being technically wireless anymore. This extender worked great for that purpose! I have also been using it wirelessly with my phone when I am far from the router. The only warning I would give for this brand of extender is that they may mess about with your DHCP settings. This is super easy to fix, you just download the Tether app, click the extender, go to settings, DHCP settings, and disable it. However, it took me about a week to figure this out, and it was a very stressful week. For those who don’t know, the DHCP settings relate to the IP address assigned to each device that connects to your wifi. My router was leasing out IP’s to each device, but this extender (and two others within the house that we already had) were also leasing out IP’s independently to the router, which led to duplicate IP’s, and a chaotic situation where allowing any one device to connect to wifi might kick another off wifi at random. In a house with 20+ devices using wifi at any given time, this was incredibly confusing and frustrating to figure out. As I said, the solution ended up being as simple as going into those Tether app instructions I mentioned before. However, I still think it’s worth bringing up because, while troubleshooting this issue, I learned that wifi extenders normally don’t have this setting at all. This seems to be an issue unique to this brand. It was easy to fix, but if you have no idea what you’re doing, or struggle with troubleshooting, this could cause a lot of problems. Without the Tether app, I have no idea how you could solve this problem either. The app isn’t mandatory for setup, but the settings for the extender are not accessible any other way. Anyway, again, this product works great and I’ve had no other issues. If you’re comfortable downloading a free app and changing a single setting, this review shouldn’t dissuade you from purchasing this brand. I just wanted to make note of it in case anyone else has this issue and can’t find the source of the problem.

I’m so happy with the TP-Link N300 after limping-along with another more expensive wi-fi extender that I bought a few years ago.I just needed a single-band (2.4GHz) wi-fi extender to reach all parts of our 350sqm house and all parts of our almost a third of an acre block and this device does that perfectly. (We have 5GHz wi-fi enabled phones, but the 2.4GHz on the old extender seemed to work better in our setting and we didn’t have the need for extra speed so we just decided to stick with that band.)I just plugged this new device in, it was ready to go in just over a minute (which was obvious from the easy to understand LED display), and it connected to my NBN modem faultlessly using WPS in another minute or so. The instructions were clear, easy to understand, easy to follow, and best of all, worked! The antennas are embedded and so they can’t be damaged by pets. And the device sticks out far enough from the wall to get my finger behind it to turn the device off at the power point when I want. I couldn’t be happier, especially at the price. To be fair, my favourable rating is possibly a little affected by the awful experience I had with the previous wi-fi extender by one of the other big brands in this space. The instructions were as clear as mud and the LED display on the front was almost impossible to interpret even using the key (so in the instructions). It was double the price, dual-band and could work as an AP, router or repeater. Although I figured that I needed to be using the repeater mode, the instructions were just so awful that they left me totally confused me on the issue. I researched it on the ‘net but I struggle to get networking so that didn’t really help. And the old device was probably faulty too, though that’s not something I realised until after the warranty period. The WPS option to connect to the modem never worked (on the same NBN modem I am using now). I had no practical way of determining whether that was the fault of the wi-fi extender or the modem so I didn’t send the extender back. After a lot of messing around, I finally got enough out of the instructions to get the device going as a repeater and so I thought that was it, sorted. But, after four months or so, the device could no-longer connect to the modem for no apparent reason. The only thing that worked was a hard reset but that meant having to go through the whole excruciating process of using the instructions to set it up again. But then, after another four or so months, it dropped its connection to the modem again! The cycle of setting it up and then having to set it up again several months later was repeated until I finally got sick of it and bought this TP-Link extender.
