Schradieck is "industry standard" violin instruction. Highly recommended. A little tedious to go through, but it teaches you about better, more relaxed left-hand positioning which is of course totally essential for improving skill.I find the chromatic scales particularly useful, and also introducing the higher finger positons (4th, 5th, 7th etc).

Since the time I have incorporated the studies into my practice routine (has been around 6 months now), I have noticed a major improvement in my intonation and left-hand dexterity. The exercises have to be practised very slowly in the beginning. It requires some patience but the payoff is worth it. I do not see why this should not be a part of the practice routine of any serious violin learner.No complaints with the binding or the print.
