What a great addition for a barely equipped DS1819+! It ramping it up to serve 10 Gbit/s networks AND provide solid 2 x 2TB SSD cache to the whole of the box. No sparing 2 slots from storage space. You simply can use all 8 slots for storage and gain speed (and security) with the SSD cache (Raid 1). Absolute recomendation!!

Lo compré pensando en tener una ranura de cache y otra para correr máquinas virtuales a gran velocidad, y Synology restringe estas dos PCI nmve a uso exclusivo de caché, por tanto, recomiendo que sean idénticas de tamaño y que uséis Raid1, pues si perdéis la caché, se perderán datos. Algo con lo que tampoco contaba.Sobre el 10G todavía no he te ido la suerte de probarlos por el alto precio de los switch con estas velocidades. Aunque conociendo la velocidad de los discos mecánicos, es absurdo subir más de 5Gbps.

Instalado en un 1819+ el funcionamiento es el descrito, aún así es bastante caro para lo que ofrece.Lo peor es la política de Synology con respecto a la compatibilidad de este tipo de soluciones de expansión.La compatibilidad de la tarjeta está muy limitada, y no es compatible con productos mas nuevos como el 1821+, por lo que si quieres actualizar a otro producto superior no es compatible... muy mal synology, lo que está haciendo cerrando el ecosistema de compatibilidad de dispositivos en general.

I'm using this in a regular X570 based workstation rather than a Synology NAS. Windows 11 immediately picked up both the 10GBE NIC (which it detects as a Marvell device) and the storage. I bought this because my board has 2x PCI-E x16 slots and a single 1x slot. There are no 10gbe NICS for a 1x slot and I didn't want to lose the option of adding more storage via the other x16 slot.So being able to get the best of both worlds in a single card is really helpful. It only runs at PCI-E Gen 3 speeds so the drives in it max out at ~3.1gbyte/sec.The network performs well but I'm running into bottlenecks in other areas so I can't entirely evaluate the performance, but it is indeed pulling down multi-gigabit speeds quite happily.So far as compatibility goes, my educated guess is that the feature your motherboard must support for this to work is PCIe bifurcation to allow the single slot to be split up to multiple devices, since the board lacks any kind of PCIe switch on it - so check your motherboard supports this if you're using this in something other than the intended device.

Ça été un jeu d'enfant pour installer cette carte adaptateur dans le NAS Synology DS1618+.Avec la Freebox Ultra, c'est vraiment très rapide et constant!Autrement, l'emballage était soigné et la livraison a été rapide.Donc, je recommande ce vendeur et carte si vous en avez besoin.

This card combines the functions of the 2 separate cards available from Synology, a 10Gbe Ethernet card and a Dual NVME cache card.Before this card you had to choose - do I need 10gbe or do I need fast r/w cache?Now I have both!The calculations Synology give for my 64tb raid 10 setup was almost 2 * 1TB NVME PCIE cards, I couldn't even find them available from Synology so I went with Rocket 1TB * 2 cards.They work just fine, but only time will tell regarding their degradation from reaching their TBW limits, however, Storage Manager will email me if it sees SMART data indicating any degradation and I can obtain replacements.Setup: 8 * 8tb 7200 256MB cache NAS drives, 32gb ddr4 main memory , 1 * 10Gbe Ethernet, 2 * 1TB Rocket NVME PCI cache

Ich habe die Karte versucht mit einem Gigabyte C246N-WU2 zum Laufen zu bringen, aber leider wird die Karte bereits im BIOS nicht erkannt. Ich weiß, dass die Karte eigentlich nur für Synology NAS gedacht ist, aber es ist nun mal die einzige PCIe 3.0 Karte mit 10G und zwei M.2 Slots (von QNAP die Karte hat leider nur PCIe 2.0). Mir steht es daher natürlich nicht zu die Karte abzuwerten. Ich werde jetzt wohl gezwungenermaßen die QNAP QM2-2P10G1TA testen. Mein Ziel ist es mein Board um zwei M.2 Slots zu erweitern und so ein NVMe RAID bauen zu können.Übrigens ist die Karte mit 20cm echt mordsmäßig lang und das nur, weil sie das eigentlich untypische M.2 Format 22110 unterstützt. Nach kurzer Recherche ist aber klar warum. Synology will wohl selbst nur 22110 SSDs rausbringen und die kann man dann wirklich nur in diesem NAS verwenden, da dieses Format auf klassischen Mainboards nicht existiert. Ich mag diese Entwicklung gar nicht, weil ich es bereits frech fand, dass man nur wenige 10G Karten verbauen konnte, obwohl es nur den Intel oder Aquantia Chipsatz gibt. Genauso wie mancher Dritthersteller-RAM Warnmeldungen im DSM produziert. Es geht also nicht um Treiber, sondern nur darum den Kunden an (sehr teures) Synology Zubehör zu binden.Zuletzt möchte ich noch anmerken, dass der Synology SSD Cache nichts taugt. Ich habe ihn ausgiebig in einer DS918+ getestet und wenn man sein NAS mit schnellen HDDs füttert, ist der Cache schlicht überflüssig. Das einzige Limit war der maximale Transfer und der war durch die kleine Anzahl Bays geschuldet. Bei einer DS1618+ mit 6-Bays ist das RAID so potent, dass auch dieses Limit nicht mehr besteht. Viel wichtiger finde ich außerdem einen großen RAM (ich hatte in der DS1618+ 32GB und es hätten ruhig noch mehr sein können). Bei zB Transfers wird der RAM bereits als Schreibcache genutzt, weshalb ein zusätzlicher SSD Cache überflüssig ist. Allerdings lohnt es sich zu tricksen und die SSDs als Volume zu nutzen (NqYJJxbsrHs zeigt zB wie es geht) und damit als Laufwerk für VMs, Plex Transcoding, usw zu verwenden. Viele hoffen ja, dass mit DSM7 das auch endlich offiziell möglich wird. Ich drücke die Daumen.
