Includes:- Low-profile PCIe card with 3 external USB 2.0 inputs, 1 internal USB 2.0 input and a power input (in case you need to supply more power due to some peripherals).- 2 Brackets: one small factor and one full factor.- Driver CD.- Instruction ManualI purchased this as, after upgrading, my new motherboard didn't have any 2.0 USB ports. I have a Focusrite Saffire 6 USB 2.0 audio interface and it does NOT play well with USB 3.0. A lot of popping sounds and would cut off sound when new applications demanded it. This was by far a WAY cheaper fix than buying a new interface. If you are having the same problem, this will work! Make sure the input and output of the interface share the same bit-depth and sample rate under Windows' sound device settings and that the set properties are supported by it.Low-profile PCIe card with USB 2.0 inputs (harder to find than one would think! Others are all PCI USB 2.0 or PCIe 3.0).Very easy to switch between the 2 form factor brackets (2 screws).Plug and Play with Windows 10 (don't need to install any of the drivers that come with the card).Recommended!

The USB ports on my old PC went out a few years back, and TWO repair shops told me I had no alternative but to replace either the motherboard or the computer. I didn't want to do either one, so I did without...until it occurred to me I might be able to find a PCI card to provide USB ports. I bought the Startech 5 port (USB 2.0 for my old XP PC) and installed it in only a few minutes. The PC found drivers to make it work, and I've been totally pleased ever since. I've used it for about a month now, mainly for connecting USB webcams for making (and completing) a number of video projects. It's working FLAWLESSLY! All total, I spent about $16.00 for the repair, which is a heck-of-a-lot better than $2000.00 for a new PC! YES...I recommend this product! It's working great for me!

If your desktop has USB2 ports that are supported by the motherboard with PCIe-to-USB3 bridging, then the Win7 install process can't get beyond the stage at which it asks for input language and keyboard layout. The reason for this is that Win7 release images do not have PCIe-to-USB3 drivers, so even if your keyboard and mouse are plugged into USB2 connectors, the installation program lacks the drivers to work with them. If you have this problem, this piece of kit from StarTech is a godsend. Plug it into a PCIe slot and Win7 will recognise a PCIe-to-USB2 bridge for which it *does* have the drivers. Then, when you are asked to specify input language and keyboard layout, the kb and mouse work properly and you can complete the installation. This is MUCH simpler than workarounds on the web that involve creating a Win7 install image that has PCIe-to-USB3 drivers on the install media.
