Comes in a beautiful wood presentation case. The sextant seems very well built. There is not a way to display the sextant in the box.

Workings are not adjustable. They do not line up in a usable fashion. If buying to use, pass.

If you ever used a sextant before you will be very unhappy with this instrument. It looks good with the shiny brass, but my box does not close and fasten and the sextant ripped the cloth inside the box while in shipment or when packing. I am keeping it as a show piece, but it does not have the quick angle adjustment I had when using the sextant in the Navy. If you want to shoot five stars in a short period of time, this will be frustrating.

Beautiful, shinny solid brass with aluminum vernier scale inlay. Only reason is not a five star is the packaging was homemade looking and viewer part had fallen off and required reassembly. All the parts were there so no problem. The unit fits the case if the caliper is centered and it is rotated 90 deg. from image shown at Amazon. Case itself has a neat brass, heavy inlay of an anchor and is handsome and has an artifact look which adds to the realism. The unit is a working device and could be used accurately. Well worth the cheap price. Not junk at all. Will sit in a business office. Would recommend it.
