This lens does not have autofocus so it needs to be done manually. If you don't know how to do that, you need to change the focus setting on your camera to "manual" and use one scroll is for the aperture and the other for the distance of your subject(s). I am a beginner photographer, so pardon me if I could've worded it better. I used this lens on a sony apsc camera, which means my camera's frame is "zoomed in" compared to a full frame. On my apsc camera, there isn't that circular border like in popular fisheye photos/videos, but I did not want that and I bought it because it didn't have it. This lens was what I was looking for so I am a satisfied customer. btw I found that the photos in previous reviews are pretty accurate, so thank you to those people for uploading sample images.

All main photo dealers in the UK had no stock of this lens. I was a little hesitant ordering from Amazon as there were very few recent reviews of this lens. However this was stocked and fulfilled by Amazon, so I took the plunge. Delivered same day and the lens is as expected. Good image and build quality, and made in South Korea.A great fun lens. The picture was taken from the inside of my fridge!

Pictures below, note that1 - Outdoor pics at f8, focus infinity minus a hair, and the camera set the exposure2 - The detail in the car pic is from the original size 8.4 mpx image with no post-processing3 - The coffee kiosk pic, I am about 8 feet from the nearest corner of the building.-Decent lens, seems well built, focus mechanism is damped well enough to stay where you put it, f ring has positive detents. As other reviewers have noted, the one-foot minimum focus kind of works against the concept. Any fisheye gives it's most dramatic effect close-up, if that's what you're going for.I read a review of these elsewhere that said the glass is very good, but the construction involves a lot of plastic, so don't expect it to last years and years. For the amount of use this will get in my life, I'm sure it's more than adequate. Sharpness at my camera's medium size setting was kind of a pleasant surprise. Frankly, I hated to pay what this cost, but with decent specialty name-brand lenses -starting- at twice the price, the solid feel and image quality are plenty good for my needs.

This is a sharp lens and I have tried it with Sony Alpha 5100. It is generally easycto focus.
