Niche b/c of the very nice quality (vibrant colours, high contrast, good brightness) 1:1 aspect ratio IPS screen, so more modern games will have black bars, but for older (like 70s and 80s) cabinet and arcade games you won't do better, it's often nicer than the original device. Also fantastic for 90s handhelds. Performs very well. Lots of options and it's basically an ARM Linux PC in handheld form factor so you can really geek out on it if you want more than just games. Yeah it's plastic compared to their more expensive metal devices but build quality is still excellent and it's very light which is a plus for a handheld. Good battery life, charges quickly overnight. The mini HDMI out is especially cool, my rg405m is more powerful but it can't play Pokemon Emerald hooked up to a 55" flat screen or projector like the old N64 Gameboy expansion cart. And the price is great value. Plus the backlit sticks are really nice, I wish they did the ABXY buttons too but it's still helpful gaming in the dark. And it's so good value you don't really lose much if you end up not using it much.
