Some hard rains came during the early years of us renting our friend’s home. Harder than even he could remember. We’d heard tale of back flow problems in the basement from clogged toilets and had taken the appropriate measures to ensure they’d never happen again. Even one-ply toilet paper couldn’t have saved us from those storms…After the first basement flood, in which I was laying down every towel in the house and frantically trying to redirect the deluge into the sump pump, I looked for a better solution. These dam things saved the day on multiple occasions. They fill up and start doing their dam job fairly quickly. You may have to overlap a few of these dam things in back of each other to ensure nothing gets through, but they’re definitely worth the dam price I paid. They saved my floors, my electronics, my rugs, every dam thing. These dam things aren’t the easiest to dispose of afterwards, but it’s better than a cleanup crew, dehumidifiers, fans, and mops.

I use these around my foundation during the winter and spring. Keeps most of the water from seeping through.

Used these to keep flood water out of our garage and back patio. Was nervous at first as they didn't seem to be expanding much given the size. But once they get enough water they plump up and do the job they were intended to do. These are pricey and are really for emergency cases. I am using a set as a longer term fix during the summer so I will update if they end up not being reusable as advertised.

I thought there would be a little flood water trying to get in the basement with the storm. Make that almost three feet. It's not fair to say that it doesn't work when it wasn't designed for that. However, after getting that mess cleaned up, we have had ongoing problems with water coming into the corner of the basement and then into another room. It is perfect for keeping the water confined to the original wall problem. Very happy with the performance there. So as long as you don't have apocalyptic expectations, not bad to have around.

Have had problems with water leaking into our home. The Quick Dam provides a good first line of defence where the water is seeping in. Once the QD is at capacity though the water will continue to seep through, so best to swap out with new ones and dry the saturated ones.
