I never had training in drumming. I sang and read music at church, played an instrument and read music in band. So I understandably was more comfortable writing melodies and such, and lost when it came to drums. This book changed that for me. I started out just trying the different patterns, the way they are grouped in the book. I found this to be really fun and quite inspirational in ways that extended far beyond the drums.After working with the book for several months, I’m starting to get a sense of how to write the beats I’m going for even without referring to the book. I’m not done studying the patterns in the book, and I’m not a master of any style by any means, but in my own little lane I’m learning more than I had hoped when I bought this book.This book is definitely the best money you can spend to get better at writing/programming drum beats.

Ideaal Als je even zonder inspiratie zit, ook als je basiskennis drum ontbreekt kan je met dit aan de slag. Klein praktisch formaat, duidelijke omschrijving .

Das Büchlein ist genau das, was ich suchte. Es beinhaltet eine Sammlung der wichtigsten Drum Pattern - auch der moderner Musikstile wie Hip Hop und Electro. Es ist kompakt und handlich. Über die Quantität mag ich keine Aussage treffen, aber das Buch hat rd. 60 Seiten mit a 4 Pattern. Für mich als Grundlage völlig ausreichend.
