I researched these irons for ages before deciding on this particular one. I'd had 2 before, both non-pressurised and figured that maybe pressure would make the difference. Initially, I thought the iron wasn't working properly and called Amazon who sent me another one and I realised that it was just the way they worked.Pros: the first few shots of steam are really good and gets the job done, the large water tank means less time spent refilling, it does cut down ironing time overall, the colour and design for me is one of the best, the iron itself is quite light and easy to use.Cons: the 'good' steam does not last, in the first few minutes of use, the steam is brilliant, however, the longer I iron, the less steam I get, even at the highest setting; descaling is a quirky process and not the best, sometimes the nut is difficult to undo, you have to shake the unit quite vigorously and not all of the limescale comes out all of the time.I have been using it for a while now and am still of the same opinion, its definitely better than a traditional iron and better than any of the other steam generators I have used. However its not as good as I expected or would have liked. I don't know if my expectations are too high but I don't think it steams my cotton sheets and duvet covers to an especially good standard without a lot of effort and I still have to iron them on several sides to achieve the 'hotel' quality I like.So like I said, maybe it's me ? I am actually looking out for a new iron and will be passing this one on to someone who will appreciate it more.

Having had this iron only a few weeks (and being very impressed with it), I am now questioning my wisdom in buying it. I followed instructions for descaling when the light came on despite being surprised as we do not live in a hard water area and I had hardly used it. The boiler screw was impossible to shift with either the implement provided or a screwdriver. The helpline was decidedly less than helpful by suggesting we needed to obtain a socket to fit it. Fortunately, my husband had a socket to fit and managed to loosen it with some effort. It does, however, make us wonder how often this will need doing and what happens to the thread of the screw with all the loosening and tightening.I think it is a poor product that needs a tool that not everyone has. The helpline also suggested that I might borrow one, Difficult, as I pointed out, when one lives in a remote area with few neighbours and why should it be necessary?Very disappointing!

I bought this product a couple of months ago , so have had time to give it a good test and I absolutely love it. So much so that I never want to return to a conventional steam iron again. I had considered buying a professional iron several times in the past but had always returned to the idea of the conventional iron as it was so much cheaper. How I wish I had bought this product before. I only have to glide over an item once for it to look well pressed and that saves a huge amount of time. I have a large amount of ironing each day and it had probably halved the time I spend. It has become so popular in my house that it is nicknamed "The Beast" and this does indicate its one drawback. It is pretty big. I have a utility room and mine just lives on the counter in there but it would take up a lot of cupboard space. That having been said, it has never needed refilling during ironing because of the size of the water chamber. The iron is lovely and light to use and I would definitely recommend it t anyone who wanted to make ironing a whole lot quicker and easier.

I am delighted with this iron. I have just switched from a Bosch Professional which cost £220.00 four years ago and which went wrong last week. As I wasn't in the market for spending another £220.00 I researched the alternatives. The reviews for this iron were excellent so I thought I would give it a try - and boy am I pleased I did. I am absolutely delighted with it - so much so I took the trouble to write this review, which I have never done before! The steam output is amazing - far better than my old Bosch. It is simple to use and the iron is sturdy and easy to handle. My old Bosch had a couple of design faults. The cable storage was ineffectual so it would not hold all of the cable, and when pulling the iron out of the cupboard the water tank invariably fell off (even when trying to be gentle). Both these faults were incredibly infuriating. This iron has neither of these faults. The water tank slides effortlessly off the iron for refilling and has a huge capacity thus minimising the need to keep refilling. The cable storage is much better than my old Bosch albeit it is not perfect. Both cables wind around the iron and there is a little bracket which slides in to keep the cables in place. But the fact that you need to wind both cables round the base means that when you are unwinding them there is a tendency to get them a bit tangled, although not much of a problem. Other reviewers have mentioned the fact that when you press the steam button the steam carries on for a few seconds after which is rather curious. Again not a problem but you soon get used to it. I am thoroughly delighted with this iron. It is amazing value, particularly for the price.

I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this iron, both on Amazon and the Which? report. I am thrilled with this iron and it's cut my ironing time enormously. The huge water tank means that I can get through a good 2 loads before I need to refill it. The iron itself is nice and light but very effective.I haven't had to descale it yet, but I can't recommend this product enough - it's almost made ironing a pleasure!
