I'm right handed and I broke my right arm recently, so I purchased this holder so that I could at least dry my own hair with one hand without having to hold the hair dryer. The clamp is very sturdy and able to be clipped on to a counter or a vanity and the bendable arm is adjustable and capable of holding a heavy hair dryer in place without falling over (if you do it right - making sure the angle is correct so that it balances in the right spot to stay in place). I have a professional (heavy) Babyliss hairdryer and this stand was able to support it at an angle sufficient for me to dry my own hair with one hand. While not ideal, obviously, I was able to get the job done where otherwise I'd have to visit a salon (repeatedly) just to get my hair washed and styled. I hope this helps.

Does the job in clamping onto something but not strong enough to hold my hairdryer, which isn’t particularly heavy. I have to sit ok the floor to use this when attached to my desk as the hairdryer ends up at the height of the clamp in due to not being strong enough to hold the weight
