I needed a 2nd slide and I have been using a Scheerhorn for 20+ years, so I thought I'd just buy another. Nope. At best you can find them used from time to time and, when you do, they can be $100 or more. This led me to find the Dunlop Lap Dawg and to give it a try. To my pleasure, it is fairly close to my old Scheerhorn bar. The differences are that the Dunlop bar is chrome plated brass vs. solid stainless steel on the Scheerhorn. Also, the edge of the bar used for pull offs is a good angle but not as sharp as the Scheerhorn. I haven't weighed the two, but the Dunlop bar feels like it might be a bit heavier. All in all, I am really pleased with the Lap Dawg bar. It is as close as I have found to the old Scheerhorn bars, you can buy one right now(!), and costs about half of what the Scheerhorn bar originally cost. If you're looking for a Scheerhorn bar and wonder if the Lap Dawg would be "close", you should get one of these. Its definitely worth a try.

I switched to this slide bar when I started playing resonator guitar and felt it was easier to hold and work with than the larger model I had bought originally. The rounded top fits much better under the fingers. Recommended!

Buen producto pero consideró que le falta un poco de mayor peso y y un poco más largo, tal vez un centímetro

I've been a slide guitar player for a long time and I've tried loads of "legit" slides and loads of random bits of glass and metal... I think this has to be my new favourite slide in general and definitely my favourite intended for use with lap style. That bit's important, folks! This will be pretty much useless for any other style of slide guitar than lap/pedal steel.Pros:Fits perfectly in your hand, isn't awkward to hold and gives a lot of control (I'm six feet three inches tall with long fingers so it should be okay for any hand shape/size)Can be a lot more accurate with your notes thanks to the leading edge, if you do a lot of soloing for exampleA good weight to it (now this could either be good or bad, depending on your personal choice or if you have arthritis, it is REALLY heavy)Cons:The price is honestly the only con, it was originally at £55 when I added it to my wishlist and really I didn't think I would ever pay that but as it went down to £30 I thought I would go with it and give it a try. In my opinion it is worth it, it really is the best slide I have used so far and I've used a lot!
