All of Greg Fishman's books are in a class by themselves. As a teacher of jazz these are the best set of materials I've seen.The books are constructed to let students see and hear in real time and real application how all the concepts are used. The books demonstrate line construction, voice leading, harmony, embellishment, everything. The duet books in particular give students the opportunity not only to play with the rhythm section but with other horn players. Through playing these books the students develop reading, hearing, articulations, technique, theory. And the chord structures are all similar to what a pro will encounter on jazz gigs.No other books put it all together in one package so immediately accessible.
