La verdad que se conecta muy bien y la resolución que tiene es buena. Yo por ahorrar tiempo lo enciendo cuando salgo de casa para que de camino al lugar encuentre los satélites. La resolución como digo parece que próxima a un metro. Magnífico para hacer mapas de orientación en la tablet (si no trae de serie) y poder incluir todos los senderos.

Lo uso para ir a volar en avioneta y poder usar el iPad con una app de GPS. De otra manera como es el iPad sin SIM mávil, no funcionaria la geolocalización. Con este complemento funciona la app perfectamente.

Auch die Akkulaufzeit ist unverändert gut (was ja im Zweifel ein geringes Problem wäre, da austauschbar).Zuerst hatte ich mit dem GNS3000 geliebäugelt, um mein iPad navigationsfähig zu machen. Nachdem dieses Gerät aber lange Zeit nicht lieferbar war, habe ich mich schlussendlich für das Garmin Glo 2 entschieden - und meinen Kauf nicht bereut.Zwar kann ich keine Statistiken ins Feld führen, mit denen sich belegen ließe, welche Satelliten das Gerät findet.Dennoch kann ich guten Gewissens sagen, dass der Tracker exakt das sehr zuverlässig macht, wozu er gedacht ist: Die Verbindung zum iPad ist sofort da und bleibt ohne Abbrüche bestehen. Der Akku hält mindestens 8 Stunden am Stück durch; das Gerät lässt sich gleichzeitig laden und nutzen.Bei der ersten Koppelung wurde in einer Meldung am iPad darauf hingewiesen, dass eine zusätzliche Software benötigt werden würde. Das habe ich testweise verweigert und siehe da, es funktioniert auch so.Eine nennenswerte Selbstentladung ist mir bislang nicht aufgefallen.Ansonsten liegt das Gerät gut in der Hand, ist nicht zu klein, lässt sich prima in der Mittelkonsole versenken. Die LEDs am Ein-/Ausschalter geben ein gutes Feedback ohne dabei penetrant zu hell zu leuchten.Einziges Manko ist für mich der altbackene mini-USB-Anschluss: Hier könnte man ruhig mit der Zeit gehen und USB-C wählen, da das mittlerweile am gängisten ist.Immerhin, ein DC-Kabel (Zigarettenanzünder mit fest verkabeltem mini-USB-Stecker) liegt bei.Wer keine weiteren Zusatzfunktionen benötigt, ist mit dem Garmin Glo 2 bestens bedient (und spart sich nebenbei die 30 Euro Mehrkosten im Vergleich zum GNS3000).

Rectificacion- Probado y funcionando con iPad 2021 8a generación con App TOPO_GPS. Usado en vehículo y caminando. Emparejamiento muy rápido, excelente precisión en campo. Seguimiento y grabación de rutas muy precisa. El manejo, en general, es sencillo. En resumen: buen producto aunque el precio me parece alto.

yo lo he comprado para usar con una app Android de navegación offroad. Tiene muy buena señal, conecta rápido y no pierde señal nunca. Yo lo he instalado en una caja estanca con el alimentador, cuando le mando corriente 12v al alimentador de mechero, el Garmin se enciende, y así permanece mientras se carga su batería interna o bien mientras exista conexión bluetooth establecida con algún dispositivo. Si no la hay, a los 5 min se apaga, por lo que no es necesario tener acceso continuo al Garmin. Para mi uno de los mejores que se pueden encontrar. La precision es inferior a un metro.

Entiendo que esto es un producto totalmente nicho. Tuvo su momento con los ipads sin gps que había gente que lo necesitaba.Hoy en día la inmensa mayoría de personas tiene de sobra con el GPS de su móvil, pero yo me he encontrado con una situación en que el móvil me estaba haciendo perder el tiempo y necesito una precisión extra. Y este aparato es perfecto para ello. Hago rutas de montaña corriendo y utilizo la app de orientación Locus Map que es fantástica para seguir rutas de otros, pero pasa a menudo sobre todo cuando no hay cobertura que el GPS del móvil no es demasiado preciso y demasiadas veces me hacía perder tiempo para reorientarme. Pues bien, Locus Map tiene soporte natico a GPS bluetooth y ha bastado un simple emparejamiento para que lo detecte y fin absoluto de los problemas. Precisión total en todo momento por mucho árbol que haya, mal tiempo, lo que quieras. Se va a la mochila, es pequeño, la batería dura más de 10 horas y por lo tanto es el acompañante perfecto para quien necesite precisión y rapidez en la localización. Un auténtico 10.

Me gusta la precisión que tiene, marca la trayectoria de forma muy exacta, es pequeño, no molesta y la bateria dura bastante. No me gusta lo complicado que se hace conectarlo, usar aplicaciones de terceros desconocidos para tal fin y que a veces tarda en conectarse a los satelites

I bought the Garmin GLO2 for use with a six year old non-cellular iPad to provide navigation. I first thought Apple would allow the GPS signal from an iphone to be sent to a non-cellular iPad but of course they do not and there is no way of using the iphone GPS data that Apple is willing to disclose. After seeing a couple of other solutions I went for the Garmin because of their GPS history and experience.The instructions are not comprehensive. The unit pairs easily enough over Bluetooth. The blue LED goes from flashing to solid when it is paired.The flashing green LED took five minutes to find a satellite fix the first time I turned it on. When it had found the fix it turned to a solid green.On charging the amber light flashes until the battery is fully charged .If like me, you put the device on to charge and it's hunting for satellites then the green and amber lights flash alternatively. It's both charging and hunting for satellites. Makes sense. But the instructions say that green and amber flashing alternately means you either have a faulty battery or a system error. So there was five minutes of buyers remorse until the green light turned solid. Now there's a solid green and a flashing amber until fully charged.After pairing I brought up Motionx-GPS - surely the best navigation app on the market at the moment. I use it for navigating around on some of the nearby lakes. The app allows you to choose the method of location fixing: GPS, WIFI or manual. I turned off the WiFi and then I hit the GPS soft button and within a couple of seconds the signal strength for GPS appeared and fixed my position within 98 feet (the app said). I'm not sure where the accuracy number is coming from. However I have left the tracking function working on the app for 30 minutes and the app is showing movement of about 40 feet in a straight line even though the device is sitting on my desk.In terms of the specifications I would probably have given it 2 stars. Cold Start 60s - no - more like five minutes. Accuracy 3m - no - 30 minutes of use shows a track deviation of 40 feet and my app, however it is getting the accuracy data, says 98 feet.BTW turning on Wifi on the iPad improves the accuracy to 33 feet. I'll take the unit on road trip to see if that changes as soon as we are out of WiFi range and let you know the result.But for $99 i now have a working navigation system on a big screen and a new use for an old iPad. I'm happy enough it works with a non-garmin app.Edit on October 15th 2019 - I've used the GLO 2 for a few months now and it's performed well. For whatever reason the Motion-X app now shows the accuracy is 16 feet. I've written to Motion-X asking them how they calculate the accuracy but I've not received a reply. I agree with one of the other posts that it really needs an accurate battery level indicator. I would pay an extra $10 if the device had this. On another point I don't understand why Apple doesn't allow the export of the GPS location over Bluetooth - any clever people out there who could explain if this is achievable?
