There are a number of editions of Haydn’s piano sonatas out there, from the old Kalmus to the outstanding Wiener Urtext edition edited by H.C.Robbins Landon and his wife, Christa. This is a very nice 2 volume collection of the 52 surviving sonatas (10 have been lost and only exist as incipient in Haydn’s personal catalogue). Well bound, good accuracy, and reasonably priced. A definite must!

These are Schubert's earlier piano sonatas which, although great, lack the sophistication and maturity of his later piano sonatas (volume 2). Unfortunately, my copy of this book arrived badly damaged after being transported across Europe in a paper bag.

Delightful melodies, so wonderful to play! Also very importantly, the quality of the print is awesome. The notes are clean and just the right size, and the paper is not bright white and the pages are large! All the things one needs to make playing easier and a better experience. I wish it were spiral bound, but the book does stay open so it's ok. I couldn't wait to get home from work to open my Amazon packet and try the melodies. I was so absorbed that I played for hours well past midnight and then realized it's May 31st, the day Haydn passed away. How ironic.

El libro es bueno, a pesar de ser de segunda mano está bien conservado, estoy contenta con él.

Book is clearly laid out and easy to read. Keeps these sonatas together neatly. If you are looking for Haydn sonatas then I would recommend this.
