Carried my 5 pounds cat in it to the vet and the bag is heavier then I expected. I wouldn't want to go walking far with this. The bottom of the bag is hard and heavy

This backpack is heavier than your typical backpack pet carrier due to the 4 heavy duty 360 wheels on the bottom that can be concealed behind a zippered fabric flap when not in use. They are heavy because they are fastened with metal rather than lighter plastic. There are a lot of details in this backpack that show that a lot of thought was put into the design, such as all of the little buckles that keep zippers closed and the clip that keeps it together when folded together for storage. The solid fabric covers for the mesh windows are a nice touch - these are handy if your pet is shy or anxious when out, and will also protect from wind on a cold day. My other mesh pet carriers do not have these. They are fastened with just a small piece of velcro so they shouldn't impede airflow too much.My only disappointment is that rather than a solid pull handle (like on a suitcase) for when using it wheeled, you have to pull it using the fabric carry straps that can be adjusted to be longer. My cat is 13 lbs and I don't think it would be particularly easy to pull her around and control the direction of the bag when all I have to pull/steer are fabric handles. This means that this bag is much more useful as a backpack or shoulder bag, so the extra weight of the wheels are kind of for nothing...

The carrier is too soft. The fan never worked, nor were instructions. Included for fan charging or use. I would not recommend this product. Not happy wit this at all. Sides kept collapsing on my dog, she hated it.

I love this carrier. Comfortable and plenty of space. Good quality and very sturdy. I like how it has breathable windows all over. Perfect for my 14 lb babu
