I can't fault this product at all. I'd read the other reviews about strange smells and non-continuous power rails.My board doesn't smell of anything at all. The power rails are fine, it gives you the opportunity to have different voltages across the rows and column rails which the OP acknowledged. Maybe brief instructions needed, but these are they:The horizontal power rails are in groups of 3,4,3 (each has 5 pins); vertical rails are split 5x5pins from top then 5x5 pins below that.GREAT PACKAGING! I will be buying more of these, well done. A*I love how the connections to the power plug doodahs is below the board, accessible from the top.I drew some lines on mine in pen to remind me of the power rail connections.Cheers.

The plastic has a strange smell- dont even know how to describe it. The surface is covered in scraches. the connectors at the top are useless- they arent connected to anything. i dont think its worth buying

The power rails at the top and bottom of each section are not contiguous along their entire length but are each divided into three sections. At first I thought that the board was faulty but it appears that this is by design as all eight power rails are set up exactly the same way. There are some situations where this could potentially be useful, and it is easily resolved with some short jumper wires, but it is counterintuitive and confusing as no other breadboard that I have used works in the same way and there are no markings on the board, nor is there any documentation to indicate that this is the case.Apart from that, it works fine. The four connectors at the side have lugs underneath the base of the board to which one can attach a power source: I have used an old USB cable for the purpose.
