This appears to be well made and works well. Needs a usb power supply. Does not heat up in use.

When I saw this available I thought...I don't need one at present, but I'm sure it will come in handy one day.No truer word spoken!I needed to connect a lan cable into my Vodafone router but discovered that all 4 ports were occupied, so none available! Then I remembered that I had sent for this a few days ago so I rooted it out together with a short ptch lead that I had spare.This little beauty saved the day!I connected the patch lead into the port on the splitter, then transferred the connector removed from the router into one of the dual ports, then connected my new cable into the other of the two output ports.I didn't realise that these need to be powered, however the splitter is supplied wit a short lead terminated with a USBa plug at one end and a USBc connector at the other end (this plugs into the splitter USBc power socket. Luckily there is a USBa socket on the Vodafone router, so I plugged into that. Hey presto! the power light was illuminated and my new splitter was working, great!This solved my Sunday afternoon problem perfectly!the splitter unit is metal construction, looks and feels very robust, the connectors are a nice snug fit too.Nothing to dislike.It does what it says on the time brilliantly without fuss or faff.I highly recommend it.£6.99 at the time of my review which I consider an absolute bargain>I'm purchasing another to keep on the shelf so as not to be caught out the next occasion when one would be required.

I've a few IOT devices that struggle to negotiate on my 2.5Gbps and 10Gbps switches. Sticking one of these in the way sorts the problem. I have used them successfully on the new sipeed KVMs and would recommend.
