I’m in an ex-council house, & though there have been wooden fence panels installed by neighbours on both sides, there is a very, VERY old metal fence, which is only 3.5ft high still installed around “my” boundary. This metal fence is constructed with quite thick chain, in a diamond pattern. I attempted to use a Makita tool with a metal cutting saw blade that moved back & forth quickly. This tool cheerfully cut through an old solid but rusty iron pipe, with no issues, but when it came to trying to cut down the fence, it was terrible, very slow going & actually bent the blade before I was more than a foot into cutting down at the side of the first of many concrete posts it is attached to.Enter this metal wire-cutting tool!I wasn’t sure what sort of quality this would be, as it isn’t very expensive, however, it has surpassed my expectations. I put it to the first section with much trepidation, as this fence has this far foiled an expensive automated saw, & also had my next door neighbour struggling to try & cut through with his own bolt cutters.I needn’t have worried. This tool is brilliant. It opens wide enough to wrap around each section, & at first, using two hands, it comfortably cut through like a knife through butter, with a very satisfying click. I tried another piece, & the same happened. I then video called my mum, as she knows the struggles that I’ve had with this rusty, floppy fence. I proceeded to show her two more sections being clipped with ease, & this time I was doing it one-handed. This might not seem like a real feat, but I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome & severe hypermobility, along with arthritis in my hands, which makes them very weak. I can dislocate my thumb, wrist & numerous small bones in my hand just picking up a cup of coffee, so to be able to do this one-handed just shows how sharp, easy to hold & squeeze this tool is.I haven’t continued & cut the full fence down yet, so I will update this review with accurate information if I find that it blunts halfway through the job, but for now I am very impressed with it!!

Me parece un mazacote para lo que es, lo compré para cortar cadenas de acero inoxidable finísimas, y para lo grande que es, me ha costado cortarlo, para nada me convence, una pena, porque parecía bueno

I've been having to cut up a LOT of chicken wire recently, and the difference between these and the small pliers I was trying to use beforehand is night and day. It is so much easier. They're very sturdy, and definitely worth getting for cutting metal wire. Don't just use compound pliers, these are SO much better for the job.
