Set this up outdoors in our basement sump in case the pump fails to trigger and floods the basement (which it did last year). Has already saved us once so far this year. Sensor is plenty sensitive and the configurable audible alarm is super loud.Integrates with Tuya and very easy to connect and set up. Runs off 2 AAA and seems to last for months even through the winter. I've got a WiFi range extender right by the door that's next to this sensor otherwise the WiFi signal isn't strong enough.

This sensor seems to work well. Connected it through the smartlife app and the tuya add-on for home assistant. I have got the local keys for the device but as yet been unable to add it through the local tuya add-on.I believe this is because the device seems to remove itself from the WiFi network and enters a low power consumption mode. It doesn't appear in my routers list as a connected device but a LAN scan seems to find it. The smartlife app reports the IP as my external address not a local address. I have added it to my routers DHCP server.Once it detects water it doesn't seem to have any trouble rejoining the network and sounding the alarm.I have it inside my pond filter in the garden shed to let me know when the level rises and it needs cleaning. Not sure if it has a set period when it reports back it still exists and it's battery strength, but over 20 hours it didn't seem to.It's nice I can turn the sounder off through the software. If it was inside the house I would have left this enabled but being in the garden it doesn't need to sound. It connects to my router in the roof space and the device is probably about 40 feet away. It seems to connect ok but the software can't tell me the signal strength reporting an error, so I'm guessing I'm right on the edge of it's range or it's in low power mode. Hopefully as the batteries weaken it will still connect. Haven't tried rechargable batteries yet but it is my intention to do so.It seems to be well made also including a self adhesive pad. Overall I'm happy with the device, hopefully when I have more time I can figure out how to connect it with local tuya.👍Update: The sensor seems to be reporting the battery strength back to Homeassistant once every 24 hours.Apart from still not getting it to work with the tuya local add-on everything is going well. It's working fine with the tuya add-on using the web.Updated to 5 stars.Update 20.5.24 my pond filter flooded today the alarm didn't go off. I tested the batteries and they were at 1.1 volt. I'm going to try and get a usb to 3v power adapter to power it so I'm not relying on batteries.I've put rechargeable batteries in and it reports 12% battery power. But because these will die suddenly I dont think I can rely on these and I'm not sure if it will be enough to get wifi in the shed.I'm thinking the batteries got too low to transmit to the router as I'm probably on the maximum range which is stated at 10m open distance.
