After years of riding with basic leather or rubber grips, switching to these LYCAON ergonomic bike grips was like upgrading from a wooden bench to a padded armchair. The whole experience, from unboxing to the first ride, felt premium and well thought out — with only one minor design element that didn’t quite hit the mark.Unboxing & First ImpressionsYou could mistake this for a box containing a sleek tech gadget — minimalistic black packaging, neatly organized parts, and everything you need to install included. Both Allen keys are provided and fit perfectly. This kind of attention to detail is rare in a product at this price point.Material Quality & FeelThese grips are made of high-grade TPR rubber, and it’s immediately noticeable. They have no chemical smell, no sticky surface, and feel cool and dry even after extended rides. Whether you're gloveless or riding with padded gloves, the texture and palm support are gentle but grippy. I didn’t experience any slipping or hot spots, even after sweating through a few hours of rough trail. The surface resists moisture well, and because of the ergonomic palm bulge, pressure is evenly distributed across the hand. This made long rides significantly more comfortable and helped reduce wrist fatigue.Installation & FitMounting was incredibly simple — took just two minutes total for both grips. The clamps secure solidly, and the inner anti-twist design (see close-up photo) ensures that once tightened, the grips don’t budge. No slipping, rotating, or play, even under torque from climbing or standing pedaling. The fit on standard 22mm bars is snug, with no need for added tape or shims. Everything is tightened using the included Allen keys, and the locking hoops are well-machined and durable.About Those End Plugs…This was the only design quirk in an otherwise perfect product. The included bar-end plugs are surprisingly heavy — accounting for roughly a quarter of the full set’s weight. But more puzzling is that they don’t functionally integrate with the grips. They didn’t reach deep enough to grab hold of my handlebar tube and felt like cosmetic add-ons more than protective gear. They might be intended to protect the bar ends during a fall, but since they sit below the grip edge, they wouldn’t make contact first — defeating that purpose. And given how well the grips already lock in place, they don’t offer any additional anti-rotation benefit. I opted to leave them off, and the grips still look and feel complete without them.Final ThoughtsThese LYCAON grips deliver where it matters: comfort, grip, and security. They look sleek, feel great, and are rock solid once installed. While the end plugs didn’t impress, they don’t take away from the outstanding quality of the actual grips. If you’re looking for ergonomic handlebar grips that upgrade both your ride and your ride’s aesthetic, these are an easy recommendation. Photos above show the grips mounted and unpacked, so you can get a feel for the texture, finish, and size.

These grips are extremely comfortable and easy to install. I used these to replace the original grips that came with my bike. Those grips were the typical semi-hard rubber material that is relatively thin. These Lycaon grips are the exact opposite, the rubber is a bit spongy and the grips themselves have a great design by incorporating a palm rest to take pressure of the centre of your palm when riding. Typically I would find my fingers tingling after 30 minutes or so of riding, but ewith these that issue is gone. This is a very inexpensive way to make your rides much more comfortable.
