These Jade Brown switches are wonderful. I love the subtle, tactile bump. It's not really overwhelming, but it's definitely noticeable, especially if you're used to Browns overall. The sound of them is great, and they have a lovely, smooth feel under the fingers. RGB goes through them well.

I started with mechanical keyboards before there were a lot of choices, and now I can't stop getting new switches to try in various hot-swap keyboards. These are great quality, but not for me. I'll explain the good points, as I see them, first. These switches are what I would call a soft-tactile -- the bump does not feel overly pronounced. The bottom of the two stage spring action feels soft and a little pillow-like. They feel very stable, and reduce noise in several keyboard constructions I tried. One thing, in particular that these excel at is shine-through keycap use. I tried them in a south facing LED keybed and they have excellent lighting characteristics, but I'm mystified why people would want south facing LEDs to be honest. In north facing LEDs these switches really excel -- they color the light a bit with a "jade" green cast from the slight color of the otherwise clear keyswitch housing, but they really transmit light. I found these switches to provide shine through that was at least twice as bright as most keyswitches I've tested. If you use a white LED north facing keyboard, they have a sort of green glass 'cola' bottle look from years past, and I personally love this look. Objectively you can't get pure white, but most people aren't into that anyway, so I consider these excellent in LED light transmission.I'd say these are an excellent choice for understated shine-through applications where noise is a consideration but tactile feel is desired. What I don't like is the pillow like feel of bottom of the key travel. This is personal preference, but to me they just feel mushy. I did not test these with O rings, but you might be able to adjust the very bottom of travel if you want a little less pillow effect. These were visually fantastic and sounded quiet, with the upper stage of travel having a great feel. The bottom of the travel will be a matter of your personal preferences -- but people around you shouldn't have issues with noise.

These are nice sounding switches. More of a thock to them. I was expecting a more tactile switch in the brown but it seems more like a yellow linear with a stiffer, 2 stage spring. It's almost hard to tell if the feel comes from the spring or if there's an actual tactile bump. In any case, there are very smooth switches and sound better than the Gateron G Pro Yellow they replaced. They just aren't quite as tactile as I had hoped. If you're using these with a shine through keycap set, they will look great, the diffusion lens gives a nice, even spread to the LED light.Overall not a bad switch. Especially if you only want a little tactility.

One of the most fun things about mechanical keyboards is “modding” - you can swap switches and keycaps and create the sound and feel that you want. The Gateron Yellow switches are one of my favorite linear switches and I am obviously not alone. It’s considered one of the best budget linear switches by many mechanical keyboard enthusiasts. I have them in two of my keyboards and they are pretty great. So what is different about the Gateron Jade Series? The switches look pretty similar on the outside, except that the bottom casing of the jade switches is a pretty pale green color. The switch itself is designed to defuse light very well, which is always a plus. The packaging is nice as well. Sometimes switches come packaged just thrown into a bag, which results in a few bent pins. Honestly, I don’t mind that terribly, because they can be straightened with tweezers, but it does require you to inspect them closely before putting them into each socket. The packaging of the Gateron Jade Series 3.0 is perfect. And it can be reused for storing your other mechanical switches. While the difference between the Yellow 3.0 and the Jade are subtle, they do in fact feel different. The best way for me to describe them is that they have more “bounce” to them as I type, while providing a deeper sound. The Jade switches, like its name, do have a more marbly sensation.I really like the way they feel. I still love my Gateron Yellow 3.0, but I also really like the Jade Series, which feels similar but different. I will definitely buy these again.
