This tape measure was reasonably priced and did function properly, so for that, it earns it a single star. I would have given it zero stars if that was an option as I can't imagine what any use this would be to anyone, as the end of the tape measure is not the start of the measurement.Typically, a tape measure like this may not show measurement markings for the first few inches, but the measurement of the area without markings is still taken into account by starting the markings at 3 or 4 inches to accurately show the distance from the marking to the end of the tape. I have included a picture of another tape measure that does just this. It doesn't have any markings on the tape for the first 3.75 inches, but when the markings do start, they start at about that point, 3.75, with the first number to show up being 4 inches.This Gunpla 15m/50Ft Tape Measure I'm reviewing, simply ignores the first 7 inches of the tape like it doesn't exist. Anything you measure will always be 7 inches shorter than what the tape measure reads. For example, my picture shows the tape measure on a 9 inches note pad, however, the measurement with this tape measure shows that it is only 2 inches. So, you either need to do some math for each measurement, or you go with another tape measure, which is what I did. I've never seen anything like this.

If you are a carpenter or whatever, you need one these. Very well constructed and seems unbreakable.
