it came on time. was just like describes. a colection in butifull classics. printed nice big and clear on good paper. worth the price.

I've added the Alto Recorder to my collection. I was playing it like my Soprano and Tenor. (I'm kind of new to them all) However the Yamaha Alto sounds so smooth, that I want to play it with the right notes/fingering. I ordered a beginner Alto Recorder book and this one. As a simi-newbie Iv recently learned to read music. Iv already played a couple of songs in here. Reading music has been so exciting, it just clicked one day..after a few weeks of using the Recorder App Tonestro. At age 56, I'm dancing with excitement!!!!!!Also, this book has great notes all through it.

I know that there is alot of material available for alto recorder, but when learning the proper fingerings, etc. for alto, it is really handy having it all in one place. This book has accelerated my learning, I believe, and hopefully I'll soon be able to play the stuff I have played on my concert flute (transverse) for the last 50 years or so, which is mostly baroque or later material. I am learning tenor (C) and alto(F) recorder at the same time, so anything that reduces the confusion is welcome (other than ignoring either of them, as I enjoy each). The pieces are mostly exerpts from familiar themes and composers which helps, and are arranged in order of difficulty, although none is so difficult as to be discouraging. Having a single purposed book might seem a minor thing, but anything that helps is fine by me, and this book fits the bill (there seems to be quite alot of tutorials and music for C recorders already out there, which is why I value this book).

This is a wonderful collection of classical music selections by famous composers. The music is arranged for beginners to intermediate level players of the alto (treble) recorder. The scores are in large print and very easy on the eyes. The paper is very good quality. All the pieces in the book are well known and an absolute delight to play. I am thrilled with this book of beautiful music.The skills level would be beyond an absolute beginner, but once one has gained a fundamental knowledge of music reading and theory, one would be comfortable working through the pieces. I highly recommend this book.
